THE HESS COLLECTION

Due to August 26th's 6.1 earthquake we are currently making repairs on our visitors center which sustained limited damage. However, we are OPEN BY APPOINTMENT only and offering tastings in some lovely areas around our beautifully scenic property. Please make a reservation, taste some wine and have a visit with us. We have quite a story to tell!   Reservations can be made here or by calling 707.255.1144.

The Hess Collection was founded by Swiss entrepreneur Donald Hess, who first purchased vineyards on Mount Veeder in 1978. The winery is best known for its flagship Mount Veeder Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay wines, and single vineyard designates from our estate vineyards in Napa Valley. A leader in sustainable practices, The Hess Collection adheres to founder Donald Hess’ philosophy: “Nurture the land; return what you take.”

Located in the historic stone winery originally constructed in 1903 by Colonel Theodore Gier, the winery first opened to the public in 1989. It since has earned international recognition for its wine, culinary and visitor programs, and provides free public access to Donald Hess’ extensive private contemporary Art Museum.
